Friends of Dance "Adopt A Dancer"
Friends of Dance conducts annual requests of our members to Adopt A Dancer. In other words, we raise funds for at risk youth who are especially talented with an especially large financial need. The actual cost of providing services for a year is approx. $700-$1,000 per child. ‘Adopt’ donors helps fund their education by depositing additional scholarship money to the office of student accounts on behalf of these dancers so they can complete their education in our wonderful program. Our goal for the year, 2008-2009, is to successfully adopt approximately 14 underpriviledged children from one of our (501C3) community partners such as The Boys & Girls Club or the Girl Scouts. Our benefactors can see them perform at the end of the year showcase. In addition, funds raised are awarded to incoming as well as returning dance students.
